Analysis of Economic and Epidemiological Factors on Business Actor Productivity in Makassar City

Abstract

This study aims to develop an integrative model for analyzing the influence of business economic conditions, occupational health risks, and health behavior on the productivity of SMEs in Makassar City. The study uses a quantitative approach with an analytical cross-sectional design and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis. For the preparation of a complete sample article, data from 300 respondents were used. The results indicate that business economic conditions have a positive effect on productivity (β=0.347; p<0.001), occupational health risks have a negative effect (β=-0.281; p<0.001), and health behavior has a positive effect (β=0.294; p<0.001). The model explains 56.1% of the variation in SME productivity (R²=0.561) and has adequate predictive relevance (Q²=0.327). Conceptually, these results suggest that SME productivity needs to be understood as the outcome of the interaction between business economic capacity and the health capacity of business actors.
