Abstract

Gluing behavior has become a significant public health problem in many developed and developing countries. Glue abuse is a common form of abuse of Narcotics, Psychotropics and other Addictive Substances (NAPZA) with volatile substances and is usually followed by the behavior of intentionally inhaling vapors until drunk (Brenesel et al, 2016). The research aimed to analyze the mediation efforts of deviant behavior in junior high school students in Makassar City. This research uses qualitative method with phenomenology approach. In addition, other informants were including parents, health officers, educators, the Social Service and the Police. Informant determination was done by using snowballing techniques and purpose sampling and obtained as many as 16 people informant. Data collection techniques used is in-depth interviews and then data were analyzed by using content analysis method. The results of the study showed that all student informants know about deviant behavior. All informants have a form of prevention carried out in different ways giving material about drugs by educators provide counseling to students who behave deviant. Parents provide supervision to students so they are not wrong in choosing friends to hang out and tell them to do positive things
